The Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association or GRCA became a part of The Concrete Society in 2005 although maintaining its own identity. The Association was formed in 1976, and it operated independently and successfully throughout almost 30 years. It has an international membership coming from some 20 countries. Membership of GRCA and Concrete Society is now combined, such that the benefits of services provided by the merged organizations are available to members.

The GRCA has a Working Group drawn from members with an elected Chairman. The Working Group discusses and plans initiatives for the GRCA broadly in the areas of marketing and promotion, and the technology of, Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete to assist the membership.

|
In terms of marketing and promotion, the main works areas are to:

originate and produce literature on GRC |

submit articles and features in journals |
| • |
plan the regular GRCA International Congresses. |

|
|
Technical work includes:

instigate research projects to improve knowledge of GRC behaviour, for example fixing techniques |
| • |
write technical documents (such as the Practical Design Guide) |
| • |
participate in, by membership of relevant BSI and CEN committees, the writing of new standards relating to GRC. |

|
The GRCA also has an Advisory service to assist with technical questions and also to circulate sales leads and commercial opportunities.

|
