Based in the UK but with international membership, The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association's aims are to promote the use of Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete or GRC, also known as Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete or GFRC, worldwide and to encourage best practice within the GRC industry. The Association is a prime source of information and independent advice and its publications, both technical and marketing, are highly regarded. Membership of the International GRCA is available in a selection of grades, which are detailed below:

GRCA Full Member (GRC Manufacturer)

The GRC Manufacturer grade of GRCA Membership is available to all companies worldwide who are manufacturing GRC to a minimum standard of the GRCA's Specification for GRC. It is a current requirement of The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA) that all GRC manufacturers have to pass an assessment by an independent certifying body appointed by the International GRCA, in accordance with the GRCA Regulations for Full Members, before being accepted into the GRCA in the GRC manufacturer "Full Member" grade of membership.  Full Members then have to pass an annual re-assessment after joining the Association. It is also a requirement of the International GRCA that all GRC manufacturing applicants must complete and submit a GRCA Characteristic Value Spreadsheet containing their last 40 sets of MOR/LOP test results, and supply evidence of their use of compliant alkaline resistant glass fibres in their GRC manufacture, with their application.

NB: GRCA Full Member Application fee / Membership Subscription fee

The GRCA Full Member Application fee / Membership Subscription fee for the membership year, 1st April to 31st March is as follows:

  • Applications submitted during April/May/June 2024: £2,480 (+ Vat where applicable)
  • Applications submitted during July/August/September 2024: £2,120 (+ Vat where applicable)
  • Applications submitted during October/November/December 2024: £1,760 (+ Vat where applicable)
  • Applications submitted during January & February 2025: £1,400 (+ Vat where applicable)

The GRCA Full Member Application fee / Membership Subscription fee must be paid in advance and is non-refundable, whatever the outcome of the application and the Full Member assessment.

Who will carry out testing in accordance with the GRCA's "Methods of Testing GRC Material" ?

  • NB: Whether testing internally or externally, please attach a completed GRCA “Characteristic Value Spreadsheet” containing your last 40 sets of LOP and MOR test results.
  • At least 4 sets of results shall be by an external independent organisation. The full test result data, including test graphs, for these 4 sets shall also be submitted to the Association.
  • Please also attach the latest conformity certificate for the AR glass fibres used in the manufacture of your GRC, together with evidence of their purchase (delivery ticket or invoice).

LIABILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association is a Company Limited By Guarantee, Registered in England: 01398450. The liability of Members is limited and every Member of the Association undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Association, in the event of the Association being wound up while he/she is a Member or within one year after he/she ceases to be a Member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Association contracted before he/she ceases to be a Member, and of the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of the right of the contributories amongst themselves, such amount as may be required not exceeding £10.

DECLARATION BY APPLICANT

  • I am authorised by the Applicant Company to make this GRCA membership application, and the declarations contained in it, on behalf of the Applicant Company.
  • I understand that before being accepted into the GRCA in the GRC manufacturer Full Member grade of membership we must pay the Full Member Application fee / Membership Subscription fee and pass a GRCA Full Member assessment of our production facilities by an independent certifying body appointed by the GRCA, in accordance with the GRCA’s “Regulations, Membership Procedure and Assessments” for the GRCA Full Member grade.
  • I understand that the Full Member Application fee / Membership Subscription fee is nonrefundable, whatever the outcome of the application and the Full Member assessment.
  • I understand that if we are accepted into the GRCA as a GRC manufacturer Full Member, we will be required to pay an annual membership subscription fee and pass an annual Full Member re-assessment of our production facilities in accordance with the GRCA’s “Regulations, Membership Procedure and Assessments” for Full Members to maintain our GRCA membership.
  • I have attached a completed GRCA Characteristic Value Spreadsheet, 4 sets of external independent test result data including graphs, a conformity certificate for the AR glass fibres used and evidence of the purchase of AR glass fibres.
  • I declare that the information I have given and the statements made by me on this form and attachments are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, true and correct.
  • I agree to The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA) processing my data contained in this form. I agree to the retention and disclosure of such data for administrative purposes in accordance with the principles set out in the 1998 Data Protection Act.
